Position 1 assigns the saddle pickup to the tip channel of the output jack and the summed signal from the two soundboard pickups to the ring channel. One interesting application for this mode is to send the send the soundboard pickup signal out to the main PA system for the audience to enjoy while sending the saddle pickup signal to the stage monitors or stage amp where it’s higher feedback resistance and cutting power are quite useful.

Position 2 reflects our most popular great sounding ‘do everything’ Trio System. The Trio combines our I/O undersaddle pickup with our dual element #54 or #40 soundboard pickups into a simple mono signal that is wonderfully natural sounding with fast attack and high feedback resistance. This combination eliminates almost all of the ‘quack’ that is common to saddle pickups and offers a near perfect acoustic signal that compliments all styles of music and volume levels. This mono signal is then split into two identical paths (tip and ring) with independent volume controls for each channel. One application for this mode is to send one signal to the stage monitors, and the other to the main PA speakers and retain the ability to control each volume independently from the guitar. Even if only one channel is used, this is the system preferred by numerous top performers for consistently excellent, hassle-free sound.

Position 3 reflects our most popular soundboard pickup system (the Stereo Model #54 - or #40 for classical guitars) which offers separate bass and treble signals through the stereo pre-amp. In stereo, this system offers an incredible, larger than life sound with a nice space in the middle for vocals or lead instruments. Panned left and right, the effect is like putting the listener's head inside the guitar. This is our most natural sounding system and it is perfect for doing recording work and playing small to medium sized venues. The saddle pickup signal is left out of the mix when playing in this mode.
