One of my greatest pleasures in life is locating the most interesting pieces of wood that I can find and crafting them into works of musical art. In much the same way that musicians are guided and inspired by the songs that flow through them, I find the same sense of joy from building instruments. What begins as a simple concept in my mind, quickly grows to the point where it takes on a life of its own and guides my hands and consciousness through to completion. My work as a builder is to refine each piece until there is nothing left that is distracting and everything flows together into a harmonious & balanced whole.
